Minutes

The Bancroft County Public Health Board of Trustees met at 5:30 p.m. in the conference room of the Community Services Building, Adams Junction. Chair Rao called the meeting to order.

Present: Trustees Rao, Kellerman, Benitez, Hoyt, and Mehta. Also present: Public Health Director Dr. Lena Foss and Community Health Nurse Supervisor Karen Whitfield, RN.

Motion by Kellerman, seconded by Benitez, to approve the December 19 minutes. Carried 5–0.

Director Foss presented the financial report. The department is operating within budget at the midpoint of the fiscal year, with grant reimbursements on schedule.

The annual immunization summary was reviewed: 1,240 vaccinations administered in 2024, an increase of 8% over the prior year, driven by expanded evening clinic hours.

Motion by Benitez, seconded by Mehta, to authorize staff to submit a state maternal and child health grant application in the amount of $46,000. Carried 5–0.

Nurse Supervisor Whitfield reported that a part-time community health nurse position had been filled, resolving the staffing gap discussed in December.

Rev. Hoyt raised the topic of a spring community health fair; staff will bring a proposal in February.

With no further business, the meeting adjourned at 6:41 p.m.. Next meeting: as scheduled.
